Bio

      Laurent Levy (b. 1973) was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. He moved to Miami at the age of sixteen, and discovered his passion from behind the camera at the age of twenty one. From that moment, he was on a direct path. 

 
     In Miami, Laurent quickly moved up the ranks from production assistant, to set designer, to coordinator, to producer. Laurent temporarily relocated to New York City to continue to hone his craft before returning to Miami. He has assisted many well-known photographers including Peter Lindbergh, Bruce Weber, Gilles Bensimon, and Stephan Sednaoui. During his time assisting, Laurent mastered various techniques and methods that ultimately shaped his style and vision.


    Laurent has shot several editorials for magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, Tear Sheet, Gato Pardo, Ocean Drive, 944, and Naked Eye. He has also shot advertising for Ralph Lauren, Kay Jewelers, Tillys, Silver Jeans Co, Fidelity Jeans, Astoria, Ippolita and various jewelry companies.


    In 2009, Laurent moved to Los Angeles to fulfill his long-time dream of directing films. Laurent’s directorial debut and first feature film, “The Reality Of Truth,” Winner of the Van Gogh award of best director for a documentary film 2016 Amsterdam film festival the film is being released this summer 2016.

 Laurent has also worked as the director of photography for an upcoming feature entitled, “Be Brave,” as well as several music videos and comedy series. Laurent continues to shoot for high-profile clients including Michelle Rodriguez, Miley Cyrus, Bernard Hopkins, Deepak Chopra, Josh Hartnett, Ashley Scott, and Henry Winkler. When he isn’t shooting or editing, Laurent can be found pursuing his other passions: surfing and music.
